About us
The French Association of International Movers (Association Française des Déménageurs Internationaux, AFDI), now known as FIDI France, was founded in 1948 as a mean of gathering together those professionals specialized in the international moving industry.
FIDI France currently comprises about twenty affiliated leading companies in the French international removal market, and those that carry out related services, such as relocation.
With its headquarters in Montreuil (93100), FIDI France is one of the twenty-six national FIDI-affiliated Associations. Its Board is composed of elected volunteering professionals in the industry and benefits from logistic support provided by its Secretary-General, Jean-Noël Canioni.
The general policy of FIDI is defined at annual conferences for the FIDI General Assemblies. At these conferences, FIDI France is represented by its current President, Arnaud BENOIT. The latest annual conference held in France took place in Paris in 1995.
Roles and missions
As a national association, FIDI France partakes in the defense and promotion of its French member companies and has preferred partnerships with major administrations –most notably the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, with whom FIDI France finalizes every year an agreement connected with the reimbursement of their transferees’ moving expenses.
FIDI France also looks after tax and customs regulations in order to ensure that competition can be played out under well needed harmonized conditions. Additionally, similar to other professional organizations, FIDI France gives its members advice and assistance, and offers training.
FIDI France also takes part in business and international mobility shows and fairs in view of promoting the French flag. Its leading members participate in the Mondissimo convention held in PARIS in spring.
